This was my daily devotion this morning. It was a great way to jump start my day. Enjoy!
“Faith is not born at the negotiating table where we barter our gifts in exchange for God’s goodness. Faith is not an award given to the most learned. It is not a prize given to the most disciplined. It’s not a title bequeathed to the most religious.
Faith is a desperate dive out of the sinking boat of human effort and a prayer that God will be there to pull us out of the water. ” (Max Lucado – Grace for the Moment)
I spent the rest of the day realizing that the boat I’m in, is filled with “human-effort” and when that boat starts sinking into the midst of despair and discouragement, God will be there to catch me and plant my feet back on the solid rock. He knows we are going to try things on our own and in our own way. We’re human. He made us. He understands us. He even knows that we will finally figure it out. We must let go and let God. Step out in faith and let Him lead us and guide us along our journey. Every time I try manipulating the strings and pulling the ropes, I only get further and further away from the plan that God has for me. He understands and has His grace and forgiveness there when we need it, and gives us faith to brush our self off and get back on our feet and keep moving forward.
That’s life. That’s grace!
Just thinking out loud.
